Not enough juice in twin 10's to get 2 dives out of them. And they're too short. Great for girls or short blokes though.

Well, 300 bar 7s are a ladies set. That's how it used to be. But now with everyone using 232 it's become 232 10s.

Basically the tens are too short to be able to sit in them on a boat or for your trim to be any good. They are uncomfortable sat down and less comfortable in the water.

Only exception to this is if you are less than 5'6", then it might be ok. But if you're that size then it would be like when I dive 15s. And even they're not great, little bit head heavy.

There was a discussion I was having a while back where I explained that only short people and girls could dive twin 10s, and anything else was plain wrong. They told me I was accusing them of being a female dwarf. Which I was. Then they sold their 10s, and got some 12s. I didn't say anything, I didn't need to.

So, basically, you either want 7s or 12s. With the 7s it doesn't matter whether you get 232 or 300, with the 12s I'd suggest 232s. I used to love my 300 7s becausae I didn't need any lead and they had loads and loads of gas in some pretty snall tins. I could get through really small holes and had nearly as much gas as the guys in bigger sets. But for some dives you need the 12s for gas.

and for some, 3L are big enough, you just have to remember to turn them on, eh Digger

OP, twin tens worked ok for me but I'm only 5'5" with an unusually low SAC (for my BMI), to about 45m. 12's are by far the most common

My 2p worth

I dive twin 10's at the moment having moved on from single 15 and Pony.

Trim:- My trim has improved tremedously since twinning up although I accept that this could have been improved on my single with some work.

Comfort:- I find walking around dive sites etc much easier with twin 10's

Sitting on boats etc:- I'm 6'1'' and have absolutely no problem sitting on boats kitted up. (I also suffer with minor spinal problems so any difficulties in the sitting position would cause me great discomfort!)

Air use:- I have to agree, I wish i'd gone for 12s for all the reasons stated earlier in thread.

Main reason for wishing i'd gone for 12's:- ABUSE see the HMS Hermes thread about baby twins containing breast milk and formula etc

I've been diving with twin 10's for the last two years or so, never had any problems with them (apart from sitting down with them on) and I'm 5' 10".

Same thing as Paul the Paramedic - I wish I'd gone for 12's for more air (I'm in the process of convincing the missus that I need to upgrade to 12's, anyone got any GOOD tips on how to do this?!!)
