| I can only get my Aladdin to talk to my PC by turning off the anti virus software, transfering the dives and then rebooting to load back the antivirus stuff. |

| aladin Hi Fiona I've just tried turning off my anti virus and it'd made no difference. Any other suggestions?? Do you have an aladin One? Cheers for your help Russ |

| Aladin Graham Not sure if they will do that as I bought it off of Paul (Paramedic) on YD so second hand, not sure of the date of purchase and whether it would be covered under the warrantly????? Russ |

| Just for the record the Aladin is over a year old so I don't think it will be covered under warrenty. I've been exchanging PM's with Russ about this problem and i'm as stuck as he is! I used the computer right up to a week before i posted it for sale and didn't have a single problem with transferring all the dive info from it to my lap top or swapping gas mixes, I also used to occasionally download info to a mates lap top without problem (he's a smartcom user and has the same laptop as i do) I'm sure it's something simple and Fionas suggestion seems along the right lines but any help would be greatly appreciated. | Hi All Just to let you know what I've done everyone. I took the DC into my local DS and they say that there is a problem with the IR on Aladin one. they are going to send it back for me, apparently I will get a new one!! Cheers for you help Russ |
| ||||
| it's a problem outside of the warranty that Scubapro has to fix as they didn't want to recall all of them so they fix them as and when they break down it's cheaper Graham

| Aladin Graham Thanks for the info. I believe under the sale of goods act, if you can prove there is an inherent fault they (Manufacturers) are under duty to fix the problem irrespectively of how long or how old the item is? Russ |

| UPDATE I have just received back from Uwatec a brand spanking new Aladin One. The old one had an IR fault which apparently they know about but don't want to recall them. they will wait until users send them back! I'm well happy, I have a £140 Computer that I paid £80 second hand for. Nice work if you can get it!! Safe Diving Russ |
