twin 15s?

Twining them up is easy enough, Divingniknaks will sort you out if you're looking for new or buy from the for sale section of YD.

Tips:

Buy decent bands - probably the single most important element of a set. Agir are very good, as are Highland Mills (no longer made IIRC) and V4 Tec. SDS are pretty good as well.

Manifold - I like Scubatec and Agir are OK, but many people will be along to rave about MDE. Need to make your own mind up about that one.

Get Sherwood knobs (soft rubber - not brittle like the hard plastic ones).

Find a decent instructor and don't worry too much about agency badge (Mark Powell gets my vote).

I recently did the same as you. Couldn't get hold of MDE valves, so went for the manifold and band package at the bottom of this page : Underwater Explorers

One thing i did notice is that my faber 15's are a little shorter than my 12's (although they aren't dumpy 15's). They are a bit of a pig out of water, but i really like them in water even more than my 12's.

If you go for the package above, i'd strip down the valves before you assemble them and give them a bit of a grease up with o2 grease. Mal Bridgeman has written a 'tutorial' on here somwhere. I only bought mine at the beginning of the year an they are really stiff. To be honest, i don't really like them and don't think i should be stripping and greasing them at all. MDE are never like that, but the AGIR ones do the job. Once i've used the current mix in them, then they'll get stripped down AGAIN!!!

Hey Andreas, I know you're a big guy but why are you go for twin-15s?

12s are a pain in the arse to lug about out the water, 15s will be a right royal pain - do you need them?

Hi Dave, tried 12s and they were just too light for me , anyway, I've got the 2 15s so why not twin those up? You can never have enough gas, cheers Andreas

I used to dive with twin 15`s great. One small problem, if you dive out of a RIB - your friends will start to ignore you - a real pain in the ass (or should I say back) to lift back into the boat......

Great for hard boats with a lift.......

I wouldn't dream of taking them out on a rib
