O2 Storage tank?????
Hi,

When does a cylinder become a storage cylinder instead of a diving cylinder.

What are the differences with regards to valves, testing regime etc, etc.

Can you get J cylinders from BOC as a regular joe blogs or do you have to be a business. Alternatively, Can you buy a J and just have it O2 cleaned at the LDS.

Sorry for lots of questions but I need to get to the bottom of it before I start buying kit for mixing Nitrox. Any other usefull information will be greatly received.

I phoned BoC a week ago, gas prices are cheap but they were charging around £40 delivery charge for 1 cylinder or 10

Hello Chriz

My local place does a J of o2 for £16. Rental is £88 a year (all figures are + VAT) and £12 delivery per cylinder.....

However, it's welding O2. . . . . There's are 1000's of threads on here about that!




ps.......Did you get back from Scapa ok? I assume so......At least we didn't see those poxy motorhomes and that foreign citroen 2CV after Perth!

A little thread hijacking never hurt anyone..... got back fine mate, about 9/10pm I think. My computers my friend again, so alls well!!

My quotes were:

Cylinder Rental £6.15 a month
Delivery £31.25
o2 £29.94
Helium £101.50
Argon £28.14

Worry about things that might happen.
Scuba gases are relatively safe. I have explosives. I'll worry about blowing things up.
