I consider that if you are diving to depth X it is safer and more sensible to do X on the appropriate nitrox than on air.
Hence, if diving with somebody I felt responsible for, eg a child of mine, I would prefer them to use a nitrox.

Naturally I would want them to understand it and I would watch as they analysed it and told me the MOD.

Just did SSI Nitrox, that was wet. No biggie though, I enjoyed both dives.
