| Few places even offer extended range now because it has largely fallen out of favour. Deep air diving is no longer considered big or clever or even useful. BSAC Adv nitrox is to 50% isn't it? You may need to do a different adv nitrox course (i.e one that goes up to 100% O2) and a deco procedures course before you do the trimix but ERD is *not* necessary. HTH |

| Need to do an ERD. However you can combine an ERD with the sports mix course. Dobbo the ERD course is a 100% course. Used to be 80.

| Ctrl-c from the syllabus: ENTRY REQUIREMENTS In order to attend this course, students must comply with the following: ● Be a minimum of 18 years of age ● Hold a minimum diver grade of BSAC Sports Diver (or equivalent with a valid 35 metre depth certification). ● Be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in diving. In general terms, this usually entails about 100 logged dives. ● Be a BSAC Advanced Nitrox Diver & BSAC Extended Range Diver (or equivalent). Problem is that BSAC adv nitrox is not the same as a TDI adv nitrox and deco procs. The BSAC ERD course is more like the TDI adv nitrox and deco.

| BSAC you do, TDI you don't But then again you've got a BSAC Adv Ntx ticket, is that transferable to TDI, or will you end up doing TDI Adv Ntx & Deco proc if you want the TDI mix ticket?

| BSAC Adv EAN is not recognised by the "tech" agencies as sufficient as it doesn't give accelerated deco. Woz's answer is on the nail. Although I am IANTD trained I would be looking at the BSAC Sports Mixed Gas if in the same position - its a great course and the Advanced and Expedition mixed Gas courses are great follow ups. Chris
