| The St John reg has a few problems with it (and I know coz I've got one) It doesn't have a demand mask and valve with it which is def the method of choice for a conscious, breathing bent diver with no other complications. It uses the least oxygen and delivers the highest concentration of O2 It does enable you to peform positive pressure resuc on someone with a bag (BVM) which as Helen points out is a good method of resucing someone - but really needs two people and is fiddlier than using the "push button" MTV style combined positive pressure resuc + demand valve It only has a maximum flow rate of 15l/min on the constant flow rebreather mask setting. A heavy or panicked breather will need more than this until you've stabilised them and lowered their breathing rate. Trust me the DAN kit with an MTV100 demand valve in it is the way forward - this will give you: Demand Valve + MTV Positive Pressure Resuc in one compact unit Non rebreather mask <25l/min BVM Bag Resuc (£20 extra - add it yourself) I have a 5l steel cylinder in my kit which gives you a load more O2 than standard small ali O2 cylinders. The SAP converter attaches the 2 pin reg onto the DIN fitting on the cylinder. This can then be switched off the "onboard" O2 cylinder onto a an O2 / Rich Deco bottle in the event of a prolonged wait for EMS. The DAN kit is about £610 excluding a cylinder - available from DAN Europe UK up in Leics - not cheap - but def the best option

| I've been chatting to the designers by email. All the components in them are O2 compatible. Not that it matters a jot cos it's LP O2 not HP. They had been getting loads of enquiries for high O2 mixes from tech divers but originally they hadn't really thought if it cos they were just a bunch of PADI nitrox divers, not well 'ard teckies.

| The Diver review said they used with with 70% too. I've had the same sort of conversation as Woz with them. I've not used it properly yet but looks like a nifty bit of kit

| I think they're a brilliant idea - I wouldn't worry about using one with pure O2 - as Woz says its all medium pressure stuff with little or no compression. They put a simple oxygen and resuc set up within the realms of you average diver and most of what you need can be cobbled together from existing gear or an unused tank and/or first stage. A non rebreather mask costs a fiver and will handle any conscious casualty and then a pocket mask with an O2 inlet which most people have already got will enable you to resuc an unconscious casualty with oxygen rich air.
