| Accelerated Deco Hi All I'm interested in being able to use richer nitrox mixes to carry out accelerated decompression. However, rather than just going out and buying a Vytec I want to do a course so that I understand the theory behind it. Would the TDI Decompression Procedures Course teach me what I want to know or would I need to go on and do Extended Range as well? Also, if anyone has done this course I'd like to hear what you thought of it, or if there are any better alternatives. Thanks Tony. |

| Speak to a good instructor like Mark Powell who will give you good advice without putting any pressure on you |

| I didn't notice you are in Afus - sorry Sure if you pm him he will be happy to give you good advice |

| i did the avdanced nitrox and deco procedures combined course recently and can recommend it. There is bound to be someone on here who knows or can reccommend an instructor in Oz. |

| sorry, ment to say this gets you to 45m depth, staged deco and up to 100% for deco. Extended range gets you another 10m deeper but tri mix is probably the way to go for deeper diving imho |

I personally did not bother with Extended Range and went straight to trimix as I wanted a nice clear head at depth |

| whats the tri mix course like? |

There is a bit of a refresher of the Adv Nx & Deco theory then quite a bit about the effects of trimix, dive planning and considerations for what can go wrong and how to deal with it. On the in water stuff it was more aimed at problem solving and identifying areas that you needed to improve on rather than teaching new skills (you should be able to do shutdowns, have reasonable buoyance, etc beforehand). Though playing with a drop tank was new to me. Foggy posted a write up of the course that I was on: The Malteasers Trip - caution its a long one |
