| Couple of things i think i need to pick up on here Quote:
ok i'll get my coat but before i go, Quote:
First one 'Intro to Technical diving' (Kit config, what, how why, etc) was Full Second one 'Gas Planning' was totally packed. Have you got a date for the next one Ian? I cant remember was it going to be 'Intro to Deco theory' or something? The feedback i have recived from everyone was that they were informative and made people thinking about the diving they are doing or are planning to do in a new light. Even if it just confirmed they were already thinking and planning properly. I personally go to them as refresher's making sure i am ticking all the boxes on all the dives i do, even though i am now on a rebreather listening to and talking about config's pro's and con's etc, gas planning (especially for bailout) always helps to reenfoce it a little. Plus these are real people and they make you tea and give you biscuits rather than just being on e forum Anyway, back to my point, If you want to meet Ian and see if you think he would be a good instructor for you try to get along to one of his talks, all they tend to cost is a contribution to the RNLI and as much pi$$ taking as you can handle from the rest of us. Met him at NDAC a couple of weeks ago and have now even experienced his training style as he's been running an O2 admin and EFR course for my club... I've got no hesitation in signing up with him to do a Technical qualification so it's now just a matter of figuring out if we can do it before my club dives the Mol' later this year - even convinced of the bennefits of the Triox so that I can remember the damn dive! |

Strange, I just had the same email, must be a circular Not done a course with Ian but there are plans. Having chatted with him and listened to him debrief someone (fnarr fnarr) I would have to agree he is a top geezer. Gareth

| Nobody sent me a PM like that. Then again, I have never met Ian Well, he doesn't teach in Ireland.
