gas blending trimix
I have a 7L of 20/21 wich I need to get to 18/45 ,the cylinder currently has 150 bar in it & will fill to 235 bar .
So what should I add to get to the correct mix ?

& before anybody rants at me, I am trimix trained & have just done what a blending program told me & ended up with a mix so far away it is unbelevable !

The HLP Blender program I use reckons drain to 129Bar, add He to 221 Bar & pump O2 to 235 Bar.

impossible Colin

to get 18/45 you'd need to add 85 bar of He and 15 bar of O2, which ends up at 250 bar

you'd need to drain a bit off first of the end pressure needs to be 235, down to 140 bar, then add 80 of He, 15 of O2

I had to chop it back to 129bar or it wouldn't work as you already had too much nitrogen in there.

Sell ya a blender program mate?
It will cost you precisely nothing.

Let the gas settle over night and analyse tomorrow as its more the likely layered at the moment.... Give it a quick roll beforehand

I don't think it would change enough ! I got a reading of 4.6/90 ! !

Just checked manually and I think that should work, although putting that much He in will mean you need to leave it to cool (and top He) before putting in O2.

It will take time to mix too.
