Get a rebreather! Save OC for bail out that you only use in an emergency - make sure you take enough bail out for the dive many don't! Sort of like skydiving without a back up para!

Er dont forget to do all the training and more! It will take while but woth it in the long run. Patience is a virtue in tec diving!

thats not particularly helpful tbh Rod. We're looking at OC setups, so "switch to CC" is not a helpful suggestion. It's not like any of us are unaware of the benefits of CCR from a gas logistics perspective, it's just we are using OC and looking for an OC solution.

Point taken, its just that hadnt really come up in the thread.

You can get rid of the last bits of He in the J tank by decanting into bin bags and then feeding to the intake of your compressor. Ive was dubious at first but it does work. I continuous blending sytem is nice; premixing and then pumping to pressure, if you are making mixes with very high Helium content the compressor can overheat, the same if topping off with helium with a compressor also the same problem with booster pumps. On solution is to bank Tmx10.5/50 and then boost this... Ive toyed with all these ideas but all seem to have problems.

I am just cascading with 4 tanks and usually manage to get use of most of the helium I just switch a a tank with 3 bar left in it. You can utilise the lower pressures by making up deco mixes to lessen IBCD risk.

Also large capacity tanks are handy as you can blend to lower pressures.
