| Another update... A not too early start and a leisurely drive south on the A1 found us at Ellerton by about 11am. Moz needed some brekkie so he had a sarnie from the van and we both had a nice cuppa before kitting up. There were a few people around and in the water, but the viz was the best I've seen at Ellerton this year or indeed for a long time. A few tweaks to my kit (Moz finally persuaded me to replace the double-ender on my long hose with a different clip) and we were in the water and onto the first platform. It was quite warm dryside, especially with the sun out, but the water temperature is also now 11.4 degrees making it so much more pleasant. I tried shutdowns on the platform and after a ropey start finally managed a few - YAAAAAAAAYYYYYY! I'm under no illusion that these were the crappiest shutdowns in the world and waaaaaay over the required time limit for my course, but it's a start. We had a nice surface interval chewing the fat, more tea, then headed back to the platform. They came a bit easier this time - still incredibly slow - but proving that muscle memory really does count. I even managed one mid-water. With my back starting to ache and my arms like lead, we decided to can a third dive and save it 'til we go back again tomorrow. Thanks to Moz for a really nice day at Ellerton (if there is such a thing Oh, and I've left my kit at Moz's so I expect my shoulder clip and redundant d-rings to have disappeared by tomorrow Hxxx
