| Mine are marked with my name and the MOD. That's it. Any indications of % were put there by someone else and are therefore not to be trusted. Which option should I tick?

Exactly, and why have the ability to change the mixes down to 1% in your computer if you are not going to use it If i have 29% backgas and 67% Deco Gas then thats what goes in the SUUNTO which then tells me the MoD which i mark on the bottle its all very simple and flexible

| I always mark up as that increases my safety margin as long as I set my computer/calculate tables accordingly, tbh more often I dive a rich mix 32% or 34% then dive on air tables, either way I won't exceed my MOD. If diving in the UK then most often my depth will be limited by the hard bottom anyway (that will change in Scapa soon I'm sure) but if I'm doing something like the Brothers I will set depth alarms on my computer as an extra warning, not that I've ever needed them yet.

| We had someone get really upset when they were constantly getting the "wrong mix" but it took them a couple of days to say anything. Turned out the cell in their analox was buggered and was giving readings all over the place If it was me, i would see what the shop/boat has analysed it at and then check it again (as my analox could be duff as well as theirs), i wouldnt be too concerned about points of a percent - but thats just me - if im analysing for a customer its usually to one decimal place.

| Mine are always marked in whole numbers i.e. 32%. I write the percentage (rounded to nearest whole number), the MOD and my initials. I know it's mine, I know I've analysed it and I know what my plan is. Analox give +/- 1% accuracy for their analysers anyway, pretty sure they are all the same, so can't see the point of trying to pretend they are more accurate than that.

| As posted on the other thread - for clarification. The reason that I teach students to label to to one decimal place is to indicate that it is an analysis rather than a fill request. It is common in many dive shops to place tape on cylinders stating the mix required - obviously that would be in round figures. The fact that a label shows the result to one decimal place assists us in recognising that it has been subject to analysis. Given that every diver is trained within GUE to check that not only their own tanks have been analised but that their buddies have also done the same, a proceedure such as this is helpful. GUE are not alone in teaching this practice. IANTD and TDI instructors do the same in my experience as most would suggest that it can only add a small safety margin to the labeling and identification process. I would not reject a mix for being less than one per cent out - in fact if it does not affect my dive plans I'd accept it further ouit than this and like Paul says would dive it as intended anyway. To me, labeling is a declaration of analysis both to myself and to others - it bears no relation as to the suitability of the gas or how it is used beyond this.
