Ditto that. He's the man that taught James Bond LOL

There are some other tech operations in the Gulf, but no other dedicated, properly equipped tech boats.

Thanks again for the input. I have just arrived in Thailand.

DrMike, what would you recommend for the POW & Repulse, from Tioman or Singapore? Because of the length of my trip, price plays a big part.

I have already done a lot of diving in the Philippines, Subic, Coron, Sabang etc. I have to agree though that there are not many interesting deep sites in Sabang.

If I have time I may head back over there. Anyone done the deeper wrecks in Subic? I heard there was a Phantom jet at about 50m.

I will put Koh Tao back on my list.

Thanks,
MFF.

If going from Tioman you need to speak to Ben at B&J diving. they can take you there depart 1am arrive 6am over wreck. they will use their day-dive boat which is small converted fishing boat ok for local island stuff but not great for repulse trip - but cheapest option. You will have to ask them to run trip for you specially - you may be paying all costs unless you can find other divers locally (doubtfull) My guess would be USD200? +gas

Trips run on luxury Blackmanta or white manta depart from singapore see whitemanta.com for schedule and prices around USD700+, or cheaper boat 'quest' see friendlywaters.com.sg at say USD550, both depart singapore depart fri evening arrive sat lunchtime.

If budget is small your best bet will be to see if the quest is running trips, whitemanta is often full and runs fewer repulse trips. (just looked - no trips running) dont think they have any trips going there soon (next one is private charter) today got quest schedule - no trips coming up either.

I have a trip going to repulse weekend after next. Depart from malaysia, im driving up from singapore afternoon of 16th - your welcome to join, depart 16th may return 19th - if you can get on this trip itll be around USD600. We only run 2 trips a year to these wrecks now. At most theres a total of say half a dozen trips collectively so chances of stumbling on one arent high.

If your in thailand and want to join best bet is cheap flight tigerairlines to singapore and we can drive you up.

If you decide to go from tioman let me know and ill hook you up with ben. may want to visit other ww2 wrecks nearby like banka and 2 subs. I may join and that will help share costs.

yes done phantom at subic and deeper wrecks see drmike.smugmug.com under wrecks
