What's a stroke?
Believe me, my intention is not to start some DIR vs The Rest bun fight.... I'd just like to know what the "stroke" thing is all about.... anyone care to enlighten me?

Pina Rosana Porceddu

A term that was derogatory towards anyone who dived an unsafe configuration, which spread to describing anyone who wasn't diving a DIR configuration and was popularised by GI3.

You may hear it now used in humour when discussing someone who dives a DIR/GUE configuration but isn't quite adhering to what they should be. If you hear someone who is allegedly DIR/GUE trained calling someone a stroke with vehemence, then they are probably old school...
