Reel or Spool?

I know that I should let this thread die but I was teaching a course a couple of years ago where we send up a DSMB without a mask and the students asked why. I explained why and then a day or so after this post appeared on RBW.

I learned from reading this that it would be a good idea to know what the average turn of my reel measured. I bet Steve was glad he had a reel and not a spool......

I read that at the time too .... for me the lesson was always dive with good buddies and always carry a back up mask ....
