| Ok, here goes, and I'm sure young Padowan will join me shortly! All the way open - i think everyone sees this as a non-starter My way, shut and equalise when it's convenient to do so: This way, in effect has all the advantages of manifolded twins and independent twins without any of the disadvantages. If it all goes to shit, I have at least half my gas saved without doing anything, and I could then potentially sort the problem and still have access to the gas in the offending cylinder. If you dive with a slob knob, this method proves even better as a failure of the slob know (when it's being used at a convenient time not in an emergency) means you have a closed manifold. Part open It is unlikely, but you could have a problem at exactly the same moment you get stuck in a tight space or you arms perhaps get trapped, then you are constantly losing gas. At least the pervious way, you have 1/2 your gas and therefore time to get out of the jam. Bring it on! Juz

| If it's tight enough I'l do anything, but we're not getting into that discussion, and not on this forum!!!! All I said was that if I was going into a hole where I couldn't get to the isolator, I might consider closing it before getting my little bottom in there. There are very very few holes that small, as I find myself in a different rig usually to get into holes like that. We've got 1,2,4 split at the moment, and I think this is going to go against you boys. You've not even put your argument together yet! You're not going to win a poll that way! |

| I voted open all the way as I don't have an isolator on my manifold. However if I did have an isolator it would be kept shut. Only being opened up only when the cylinder being breathed off was down to 50 bar, then once pressure balanced shut off again. rgds g.
