| I reckon they may have had a draw full of 12v low voltage halogen bulbs. There seem to be a few different makes of torch using these now. B&Q are fairly expensive though, there are definitely cheaper places. I just can't see B&Q stocking HID bulbs, to what end? They are not exactly commonly used items. Daz

| I believe the HID bulb and ballast comes from one manufacturer, Welch-Allyn Lighting Products in New York state in the USA. It is not just a matter of changing the bulb for a cheaper one. |

| i manage an engineering/lighting company and looked into importing these from WAL as JJJBBB mentioned above, the price Underwater Kinetics charge was about the same price i could import them for.... Just the price of the technology at the moment... Wait till some of the new high-power LED's start coming out though... One of my friends who works for a big lighting company reckons incandescent (halogen etc) lighting may well be a thing of the past in 5/6 years.... (!?) |
