You may not get charged the last two, but you can't count on it.

you could end up paying
$160 for the torch
20% local tax $32
Shipping $50
some import duty (don't know the numbers for this)
17.5% VAT (on $192) $33.6

giving a total of $275 or £185 not including import duty.

On the other hand you may not get charged local tax, VAT or Import duty.

Check with the supplier before you commit, they may not charge local tax and may tag it as second hand so you dodge the import duty and VAT. I tried to by from Leisurepro a few years ago and found them to be unhelpful and unresponsive. If you are going to buy from the US there are better places.

Someone else posted about buying from these guys a few months back. I remember he purchased two Tribal packs and saved around 300 quid. I've ordered some fins and a reel from them I'll make a posting once I have the bill and the goods. Thanks for the heads up though Conor.

Dave.

I used to have one and it was great...til it flooded due to a crack on the clear plastic thread that went un-noticed because of the plastic rubber bit that protects it from bumps...ooops that was expensive...i bought a custom divers hid instead...but otherwise a good torch...cheaper than other hids mostly because it's plastic and cheap to make...

I bought one, and still like it.

The only problem is that on a dive when you don't really need a torch, but you "just want to look under that ledge", it's a pain.

As on these dives, others (Non-HID) tend to not switch it the torch on, on the surface, but when they need them.

I on the other hand curse the time it takes for the HID to warm up.

This goes against my recent experience. I have just received my first order from LeisurePro. No local tax or any other hidden charges or any other bullshit. The delivery charges were good and the delivery time was even better. I saved myself a few quid over buying form a UK dealer. It's your money spend it as you see fit.
