| Hi There I know some of the UK torches are able to use both the rechargeable battery pack and normal batteries check out with UK. I know the light canon is one such torch. I also have the UKD4 non rechargable and has worked fine I only use Duracell Ultra Batteries and they have lasted well. Regards Lita |

| Hi Shane, I am quite happy to be corrected here but from my (not extensive it must be admitted) reading on the matter you could just replace the alkaline batteries with NiCad's as long as you wern't leaving them for months without use. http://www.ripvan100.com/additional_info.htm http://www.batteryuniversity.com/index.htm I'd be interested to hear of any reason not to use NiCad's Cheers Mart
