<font color='#000080'>OK OK I have a problem with shiny things and can't help myself....
50W 12V nickel plated steel head running at 14.4V (more like 75W) with pulsed electronics, 4 dimming levels, auto battery protection, low battery warning, 19.2V D cell rechargeable battery pack, full ocean depth wet mateable connectors, 10mm Borosilicate toughened blast furnace torch glass. Burn time of 60 mins at full power, 250 mins at min power. Scares the crap out of the fish and you can use it to cut steel. Makes your HID look like a pilot light.
Sorry. Got carried away.
And when you switch it on, it gently dims the bulb up to stop it blowing. Oooh- and the switch is magnetically operated so no leak paths there then.

It IS very cool though, forced to admit. Just supposing money was no object, how much are we talking here....?

<font color='#000080'>Well I reckon if you paid for all the workshop time that has been put into that then you would be looking at the thick end of a grand for a one-off. Of course, workshop time is free for me and I can get all of the components trade, including the batteries (www.countybattery.co.uk), connectors (www.subconn.com) and battery housing (www.univer.co.uk- the housing is a pneumatic cylinder). The 10mm glass was, surprisingly, available from my local glass shop.
I did work it out for a production run and the minimum selling cost ended up at about 500 quid.
