Hi All,

I need to choose a rechargeable torch in the £130ish range. The three above seem to get good reviews - which do you reckon, or name another.

Cheers,
Dave.

<font color='#000080'>i voted for the princeton tec, just becuase i've got one and never had any problems with it.  it's reasonably compact for a lantern-jobbie, pretty tough, and it makes light. not much more to say about it really.

never tried the UK ones, they might be better, i don't know. just my 2p worth really.

I voted for the D8. The 30W/14W switchable bulb compared to the fixed 20W one is worth the extra £20 in my opinion.

I got the C8R and its a great torch...the 20W bulb is amazing although it does startle the fish.

I managed to get mine about 3 months ago for £90, rather than the £130 normal price by having a look at cybaqua...they currently list it at £109

<font color='#000080'>You can get the Peli Aqua-King from RS Components for 75 quid + VAT (free del) product code 242-8860. 8 D cells, 12 hour burn time. If you don't like it as a torch then you can use it to beat attackers off as it's the torch the Hulk would pick. Grrrrrr.

That's one of the many things I love about this site - post a question, and get several answers in a few minutes!

Have gone for the DR8 in the end, mainly for the switchable 30W/14W feature. £129 from Go-Dive.

Have also splashed out on a pony set-up (and not before time, yes, I know ).

Now just the VISA card to worry about   .
Surely now I must have all the kit I need and can stop blowing every last penny.... oh, except for the semi-dry and selection of clips I need to get at the weekend  - arrrgh!

Cheers for the advice all,
Dave.

Woz, you are a veritable mine of information old chap, ta for that.

Actually, spring fins strap, stainless clips... - seems to me you have a thing for submergable bits of shiny metal
