You don't have letter boxes in Canada you see... you have to go to your mail box in your sub division, or if it's too big to fit in the parcel box then they leave the parcel by the side of your house. Fortunately there are much fewer thieves out here than back in the UK. This is a good thing, as I left my patio door open for two days during the big move of last week .....
Pretty Flowers - if you're in Canada, you can check out Tom's shop in Kingston. Northern Tech Diver. He's become a distributor for Salvo so you can avoid any brokerage fees on imports. Let me know if you want more details.

Already bought, paid for and cleared customs.

Thanks for the heads up all the same (omg talking like a proper Canadian these days!)

Kingston's about a 3 hour drive from where you are, but Northern Tech's a good place to get decent kit. And I gather the phrase "heads up" isn't a British thing? Sounds like you're doing well - just have to get you drinking Tim Horton's and eating Timbits.

I get my new Salvo torch this weekend.....

No longer in darkness shall the lucky YD’ers dive!

So how good are these light sabers? I’ve been sitting on the fence for months waiting to buy a HID but with nothing to make comparisons with it’s pretty hard to part with that kind of cash.
What do you recon guys, will the force be with me, can I be brought back from the dark side if I buy from Jedi Master Salvo?

Well mine is identical (and slightly brighter) to a Halcyon Helios 9A/18W which DIR Direct are doing for £990.00. Barry is way cheaper. £615 is what a 9A/21W came out at when imported as a 7 off.

Comes out at 771 GBP for me, that's one unit with the UK input cord and international shipping. If you can put the out at 615 that's a pretty good deal considering you have the import tax to pay.
At over seven hundred quid it's going to have to stay on the back burner for a while. There's a few other nice little toys that are going to break the bank first.

Dave.

The casing, goodman handle and bulb slug all appear to be identical to the Halcyon kit. Yes it is brighter, and there is more halo around the beam, which is useful but I dont think the centre spot is quite as good as the 18W bulb. I have not taken it underwater yet but will do so next week. There is a yellow spot near the centre of my beam. Do you see this on yours?

Andy

Apparently the bulb's are Brightstar rather than Welch Allen and the reflector is a "number 3" rather than something else.

Not entirely sure what this means though
