Replacement Bulbs for Light Cannon

Having a UK light cannon is a fabulous thing, works on normal C batteries, can use rechargable C's and also have the UK recharger pack, however, sourcing a replacement bulb can be difficult and expensive.

Does anyone know if one has to use UK 10W HID bulbs or is there an alternative?
