Talking Green Force

All,

After the weekends fun and games (exploding torch) I'm in the market for a nice Green Force Umbilical. Any views on the cheapest retailer for said torch with half decent after sales.

Thanks

John

i'd rely on going to lumb bros to buy direct or to source to a LDS (there's not much of a price difference between retailers)

i go direct to lumb for service

just bought FII Pro. Go-dive cheapest by £30, but bought from SDS because I don't trust Go-dive to deliver after a few little problems in the past.

The man at SDS said he had one in his hand, and I could have it next day, so I would have it in time for the weekend. Which was good as I should have been doing two days diving. But then the dive boat blew its engine on the way to the second site and we had to be towed in by a fishing boat - so I have only got it wet once!

I got it mail order as my LDS doesn't stock them. If you don't have a supplier locally then Lumb brothers will supply direct as well.

cheers

ASk Woz he has an account with Lumb Bros, see how much he can get you one for. I've just upgraded my head unit to the 100W Compact HID its lovely.

Going to upgrade the battery to the F3 when i got the money. Greenforce torches are great and the modular construction means you can customise and upgrade as and when you need to / can afford too.

I have the F3 and 100W Impact head. Lovely bit of kit though it might not be in the water for a while, sigh.

I have the F2 and LED tristar,

the difference between the LED and the 100W head is really noticeable, but the battery life is hours more with the LED - so great for holidays and muti-dives per day

just may have to go and buy the 100W for this country though

Hi Vid...ditto...got the same and thinking the same...let me know how you get on price performance...

My mate has a Fami HID and it knocks the spots off my tristar, but he's had loads of problems with..not turning on..flooding etc mines been 100% reliable..

But yes I do fancy the HID.

There doesn't seem to be a happy medium to be honest.
LED has the battery life and lacks the intesity.
HID has the intesity and ok battery life but costs a fortune (esp replacement bulb)
Your bog standard torch lacks intensity and battery life.

I've looked at the GreenForce FII and it doesn't have the power and the reviews don't like the way that you turn them on (by screwing the head tighter).
The F3 and F4 are damn expensive and I would go for a Salvo in that price bracket.

Very difficult to choose!

Tripping the light fantastic

Greenforce lights are brilliant. I started 7 years ago with an arrow 12 and a 30 watt head now on 2 100 watt HIDs video lights and tri star LEDs and F2 and F4 battery packs. Modular design great for me as my needs include cave diving, wreck diving and video work with both.

Mickey mouse helmet to light the cave forward of the video man.
