Thumbs up Denney Diving & FA&Mi EVO 50

Just bought a v nice FA&Mi EVO 50 torch for on my hols from Denney Diving.
I spoke to Chris and he recommended the torch and said that if I didn't agree that it was as good as he said then I could send it back.

Anyway, he was right and it's staying with me.
Big thanks to Chris for top service.

Came across this in a search. This size of the FA&MI Eco 50 really appeals to me. How has it performed this season for you fella? And does anyone else have any experience? What is the light and burntime like? Does it throw a nice beam as promised etc.

Cheers, Ant

I am sure this is the one Mr 2tanx did a report on if you look back in the Torches section I am sure you will be able to find it.

I bought a FaMi 50 but just the hand held one and I like it.

no not the same the EVO seems to be the same as my 50w handheld one but as a rechargable version.

Yeah i think the evo is handheld as well. How does it feel in the hand for weight etc. I want something small that kicks out a lot of light and they seem to fit the bill.

I have just got back from a trip to Pollensa in Majorca and dived in many caves there.
The torch performed superbly well, it was by far the brightest torch of all those used by the groups.

For me, the good points about this torch are:

1) External charging (3 hour burn time)
2) Magnetic On/Off switch so less chance of flooding
3) very robust, it's a really solid piece of kit
4) Damn bright, a true 50 watt equivalent
5) Size, it fits into my BC & Wing pocket
6) Becasue it's LED it's ok to use as a torch out of water

I am seriously impressed with it and the cost was £279

Before going to Majorca, I had used the torch in Vobster and on the Aeolian Sky and it performed really well there too.

I got a Power 4 Fa Mi from Chris when it first came out. Same deal, try it, if you don't like it, send it back. Top bloke, and great service. And a good torch. I bet the Evo is great.

I'd be interested to know how this one performs;

Looks like a monster, if a bit ungainly.

David
