Tom, I was thinking from a weight point of view as well for luggage.

I made a decision and bought a Beaver Platinum Lamp. It come with 4 different bulbs, a 20, 35, 50 Watt wide angle and 50 Watt narrow beam. I thought that the choice of bulbs would be a good idea, as I could change them according to the type of dive I am doing.

I'll second that. I took a Photon to the Red Sea a couple of weeks ago and it did the job very very well. Bright with a nice spot. Used it for night dives including a night penetration dive on the Thistlegorm. Fantasic bit of kit.
