Question Quick Salvo Question

Does anyone (Phill?) know how long the batteries retain their charge for? i.e Can you charge the battery several days before using it? My "other" torch only retains a decent charge for about 48hrs, so basically I only ever charged it the night before I needed it.

If the Salvo batteries can hold their charge for longer then this would make life a bit easier - anyone know for sure?

I'd suggest that there's something wrong with your 'other' torch.
Put it on e-bay

Over the last few months, I've only been charging mine after every two or three dive trips. At most, I think I probably went over a month (maybe close to two) between charges without problem.

Rob they hold charge for a helluva time, I don't actually have any figures for the degredation.

I charge mine usually a few days before use with no problems.

Barry ? You lurk here, any numbers ? (I'll mail him as well, 'cos it's a good question)

The manual clearly states that you should use a charge within 48hrs or you'll get reduced burn time and I've always done exactly that - especially when you only have 45mins to start with with....

Er, yeah - sorry I should have made that clear - my "other" torch needs to be charged and used within 48hrs and has a burn time of 45mins - according to the manual.

It also came with a manual...

My Salvo doesn't need to be used so quickly after being charged and burns in all it's 21W glory for 2 hours - according to Phill, the, er, talking manual.

Which didn't come with it. Thank god. The bookshelf would never have stayed up... He'd have sold that by now.

It is always a good idea to charge any light before a dive, you may have forgotten after the last dive. NIMH batteries will lose a charge faster than most, but it is usually only about a few percent per month, I will check on the exact percentage, but it is low.
