its got an odd parallel/serial combination in the battery housing, so you can only fill one half of the battery slots and it will still work.

The specs, dimensions and looks seem to be identical (says the torch freak and collector of anything that shines in darkness and can be used outdoors ; ) . They've kind of trickled out of the diving market, sell for about $30 in the US and are on Simply Scuba (or Simply Hike) stock for about £27 inclusive. They do come in black too..

£21 at http://www.extremeoutdoorgear.co.uk/...ack-p-883.html

Apart from the switch as you say, Xenon bulb life can also be an issue particularly for active underwater use - generally about 25 hours. (Gone thru a couple of good Xenons in my outdoors with good and bad experience). :-)

Best
Izzy
