Greenforce Flexi Funstar LED

Well...Andy (Dalesdiver) just sold me one of these and it arrived today and I've been fondling it all morning looking forward to getting it wet.
Anyway, gave Wally at Lumb Bros a ring to see if there was anything I should know about the torch and he kindly chatted to me about all the possibilities that lay ahead! As it is (with standard LED bulb), the torch will give a 16 hour burntime on 8 AA batteries, but it appears that I can get the following for my new toy:
50W HID head which will give me 2 hours burntime on the same 8 AA batteries or;
Tristar Plus LED head (I think Wally said this was equivalent to 30W HID) which will give 2-3 hours burntime, and;
An umbilical cable will allow me to use the torch with a goodman handle and get rid of having to clip the whole torch somewhere on my person!
So, all in all I have lots of options with this torch (admittedly, the umbilical is the only affordable one at the moment) and am really pleased with it.
I guess I'm just posting to say thanks to Andy for selling it to me at the bargain price he did, and to also say thanks to Wally for, excuse the pun, showing me the light!
For anyone that's interested in the torch, you can see it on the Lumb Bros website
Regards
Martin

Probably 30W Halogen, not HID equivalent (a 10w HID gives light output similar to a 40-50w Halogen I believe).

Ahhhh OK - that makes more sense.
Will bring it along to the pool next week and get it wet - see you then.

Talking Tristar

I have one of these LED heads. It provides a lovely white light, but not a massive beam=30w halogen
I also have the 18w HID Impact head. Known to light up entire wrecks and make other divers feel inadequate.

I like both heads and use them for different dive situations

Fantastic Torch = Greenforce

I bought a replacement greenforce for the Tristar 15 which I lost in September. I now own a ........

It's actually 50 Watt equivalent - the tristar 15 was 30 watt equivalent

It shines very nicely MMMM

My only disappointment is that there's not enough diving in October/November for me to play with this smahing bit of kit

this set up works really well

I must say, I'm really pleased with the service from Lumb-bros (which I've said before on this forum). And as the subject title says, I really rate the torches themselves, so much I 'm making another purchase at the dive show
