You paid that much for two Beaver halogens?? That seems just mad to me. Sod all light for the Pounds.

That's nearly a Halcyon HID.

Lightbulb

yes i know, however my situation is this. I know a diver with a metalsub hid. Battery pack flooded, no torch on dive = bummer. Also new bulb £100+. I had two greenforces, both have flooded leaving me to do trimix dive on 2 mini q40's and a led lenser=bummer.
So take in 2 beavers, one floods still got 50watts of light all be it halogen, also replace beaver at £160 no much more than hid bulb. Bottom line is i am sick of having flooded expensive torches. and no i am not a muppet as i do check they are done up properly before dives. I still have a UK800 which is 12 years old and never flooded, its just a bit bulky with all the trimix kit on.

Thumbs up Thanks Timbo!

Thanks Timbobaggins,

I thought that was a great idea. I went to www.divetorch.co.uk as you sugested, they suggested a cheaper option of two new Beaver Plasma LED torches giving 2 x 40 watts with up to 4 1/2 hours burn. Bulbs are not as easy to replace but bulb life is supposed to be much longer than halogens. They also connected them together at 180 degrees through the handles using two SS bolts and wing nuts. I can hold them easily in one hand and can even take them apart underwater if necessary - not that I would lend one to my buddy!! Cost was £269 which I know is quite a lot, but the new 75 watt LED was £295, so I guess I'm better off???

Thanks again,

Bill
