Hi Scubajay,
The battery cannister was designed with 50mm spacing in the centre ridge profile. This allows the cannister to be securly mounted on a cam band fitted with a tri glide (form a loop with the glide). I usually mount mine this way up, close to my plate behind my right shoulder. Excess cable I poke through the shock cord which holds my spare SMB to the plate.
We now have some cordura canister cases which allow the canister to be slid onto the waist harness, there are two 25 mm D rings at top and bottom of the pouch to secure the pouch from sliding forward. Pics of the pouch on our website.
