| Grip it between your knees and go for it. Works for me.

I'd be very careful opening it, try to crack the seal very gradually, with the lens bit (potential projectile) facing away from you. I've heard about the tops blowing off mini Q40s with the same problem.

| I have a C8R has the same 'issues'. If the batteries have given off gas then the inside will be pressurised, bung it in the freezer to reduce the pressure. Normally I can manage to man handle mine but the rubber ring around the lens often just slips. They are a bitch!!! Which is one reason why my next torch will be rechargeable throug a jack pin. Matt |

| May try the freezer idea next then as nothing to lose. Not sure if its battery gas pressurising it or the pressure from a dive squeezing it shut causing the problem. Ive had the issue before but just about managed to open it, this time though no joy. There doesnt seem to be a vice big enough to hold it either. Im seriously considering a last resort drilling through the casing to release pressure and filling the hole with something afterwards. Really dont want to do that if theres an alternative though. |
