I got one of the real early ones with the original 21W bulb nearly two years ago now. I upgraded to the 18W bulb and had an issue where the light flooded soon after. Phill did a complete replacement of the ballast and bulb on a spectacular turnaround and it's been going strong since. Still got one of the original chargers not seemed to have any major issues with it.

It's a brilliant light and has worked cave and wreck diving. The blue colour temp was paricular great lighting up limestone in Mexico

Cheers
Al

I have an original salvo 21W 9ah (which I bought direct from barry in the states before Phill started doing them (and I cant tell you the price, Id have to kill myself !!!)

Its still the original set up and solid as a rock.

Just a tip for the folks concerned with light colour - try removing the test tube head, clean it out and replace it. Crap build up over time.

I love my salvo and would recommend them to anyone that wants to pay for quality and robustness

Thanks folk. I had a feeling it would be a good piece of kit.
Wreckweasel, that is the kind of real world use I want to hear about.

Thanks again,

John

Biggest problem I have with my Salvo is it becoming slippery to hold pre and post dive from people drooling on it
