Not sure about the whole bulb change idea but my friend has the 100W HID compact head on the F2 battery and that kicks arse and has a 90 min burn time. I could definitely recommend that set up!

According to Lumb Bros, the bulb that comes with it is 35 watt or something xenophot, whatever that means.
I asked the same question about plopping a 50watt in and they said there would be hardly any difference between a standard 50watt halogen and the 35 watt xenophot apart from the burn time, which is decreased.

I used to have a Greenforce Pro head on an F2 battery a few years back and have no problems at all (other than a dramatic decrease in burn time) when running a 50 watt bulb in the Pro head. I even managed to find a company that sold a 50 watt bulb with an almost HID-like white output for about £12. Can't remember where I got it from but if you contact Wilbo (he's also on YD), he may be able to point you in the right direction (he was the one that found the bulb!)
