I can't find your article on RBW what lamp have you got?? Spec etc.. price and from whom??

Personnally I'd keep both. I'd use the HID on most dives. The tristar LED would always be there as a back up.

I don't know whether you do any holiday diving. I've heard that HID is overkill for blue water diving so LED might be more appropriate for that?

I'm planning to get a tristar head as a back up for my HID head (although I plan to get a dual umbilical to use both at the same time)

GF fan

I would say retain both heads. The LED is superb for night diving, the HID for big dark wrecks. This is what I do.
