Ah right, that explains it a bit more.

I got the prices from Deep Blue, which were as follows:

F2 with 100 Watt Compact HID Head - £479.00
F2 with Tristar 15 LED Head - £528.00
F2 with 50 Watt HID Head - £429.00
F2 with Tristar Plus LED Head - £345.00

So basically Deep Blue have discounted all of them except the Tristar 15 (presumably because very few other places stock it) which makes it appear artificially expensive compared to all the others. In fact, it appears that its intended to be priced somewhere between the 50W HID and 100W HID, which is a little more reasonable. Just that they're not equally discounted.

HID50 it is then! Especially as the burn time on an FII, with a HID50 is 240Mins with wattage of 50 and a Tristar 15 is 180Mins with a wattage of 45.

Cheers all!

I'm sure you'll be bery happy together.. I bought the older style Tristar and FII...dived it for a year and then upgraded and bought the 50w HID. The Hid is far better...still a bright white light but it penetrates so much better. As a contrast...I got the Tristar Plus for a mate at last years dive show and its alot better brighter than my Tristar...but its still know where near the 50w HID...

Its a good choice and a good compromise between burn time and light sabre.

northern split arse saw the sea in a book once
when my bulb went on the 10watt HID i replaced it with a tristar plus. my dives are generally below 50m and have found this torch head more than sufficient.

brett at divelife advised me on the tristar plus, rather glad he did
