Imported post Well, I guess I'd call it a qualified sucess... It suceeded, because I took the torch down to 35m and had a lovely white light illuminating my travels down there. And as for how good it was in the Stanegarth... a 35 watt bulb illuminating the hold of a wreck, it blew me away! Even the 20 watt on the 2nd dive was better than my old handheld UKD4R! On the downside, the cannister flooded totally, due I think to the top not being well enough sealed. I've added an O-ring, which I hope will counteract the problem. I'll keep you posted ;o)

Imported post Dom, I've put a 50 watt bulb inside a bog pipe but I think it might flood even though there's an o-ring there, it feels a bit loose. I'm going to connect it to a 12 volt lead acid battery pack (the bulb is housed in a plumbing coupling) so it's really just a back up light but perfect for bungeeing over my hand goodman style hehe. George would have a fit!! B&Q is the best diving supplies shop in the country

Imported post Why not put it in a maglite? O-rings everywhere, they're designed perfectly to not flood. It's the only part of my torch that stayed dry Bit big to Goodman tho.. handheld it'll have to be.

Imported post So that everyone can finally have the laugh I've been promising, I finally got my web page up and running, with pix. So: http://www.oneandoneis2.demon.co.uk/...cannister1.jpg http://www.oneandoneis2.demon.co.uk/...cannister2.jpg will show you my home-made cannister light. And http://www.oneandoneis2.demon.co.uk/DiveWeb/ will show you everything else...

Imported post Excellent site Dominic. realy enjoyed the hub bit, well thought out.

Imported post Dom I've just sat down with credit card in hand to order "The Divelight Companion" from Airspeed.Com and then read about shipping costs, unknown taxes and import duties etc that will be billed at this end, so I'm a bit wary of ordering it now.... Can you tell me please, just how much it actually cost you altogether with the extra charges added on. Thanks mate Dave.

Imported post Exactly how much it was, I don't remember - but I ordered both the Divelight and the Oxygen Hacker's book, so that wouldn't help you much. But there aren't any stings in the tail, don't worry. I think the warning is just there as a "We live in America and don't want to get sued" kind of thing... Certainly, you don't have to worry about buying a £20 book and paying £100 for shipping, or any such nonsense.
