Imported post I don't know wether this info will be of benefit now, but I had to ship in some parts for my 1968 Cadillac Convertible a few years back, and found as a rough guide to total cost was to merely convert from bucks to quids. ie If an item was 贶.00 it would cost around £150.00 to get it here, shipping/import/VAT/etc taxes included.

Imported post Just completing my own dive light. Used a preserve cannister (£3.99 from Trago Mills), a 150w halogen lamp (you know, the PIR ones you get to go outside your house?) - free, as I'd used the PIR bit for something else, borrowed a 12v 7ah Yuasa from the Father-in-Law and the piece of resistance, a braded oil line and assorted brass fittings for ~£5. Plus a bucket of silicone goo and some epoxy. 20w dichroic at the mo (works brilliantly (geddit?)), but will be buying a 50w (75w if I can get one) before final testing. The best bit has to be the lamp head, which is designed for the task. I'll let you know how the tests go... Check out the manadero site for more inspiration. Cheers, John "Forget DIR - DIY!"

Imported post Hello list, I just finished mine . For mine I used an Aul light head, and build a stainless steel canister. Mine have a Nimh battery of 4100mAh, of which with a 35W halogen lamp have a burn time of 65min. http://groups.yahoo.com/group....er.%202 I also modified the light head so that I can switch on and off from light head instead of the canister. The canister is 50mm diameter and 40cm long, has space to put an other battery. If someone needs any ideas, maybe I can help. Regards Pierre Farrugia

Imported post Thanks Steve! Photos etc available once all tested... And yes, you got the right website. Goood, isn't it? Thought I'd upgrade the bulb today - 59p for 50w; Hmmm... HID doesn't look quite so interesting now...!!! Also, found two useful things at Trago Mills today (haven't heard of it? It's a stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap department store stuck in a 50's timewarp here in Devon - but I digress...). First, dual filament 90w/130w car headlight halogens (I think I need a 12ah hour battery for that one!) and secondly, an outdoor lamp in turned aluminium already environment-proofed - for a tenner! All I need now is the 75w Markline ES... Anyone got any good ideas on waterproof switches? John
