| Hi, I'm one of the engineers at ssp, I've done side by side comparision testing of Halogen,HID and LED light sources both above and below water. I aggree there is some confusion in many manufacturers claims.Infact I came back from one test dive scratching my head as to why two lamps appeared equally bright under water even though one had only half the rated lumen output of the other. The other manufacturer had included the full spectral response in the lumen output specfication and that included wavelenghts not visible to the human eye. To answer questions on equivalent brightness, we made a demonstration projection box which has a 35 watt Halogen, 10 Watt LED and 10 Watt HID, all with the same beam angle ,some of you may have seen it at the past birmingham dive show. All three use the same 12 Volt DC power supply, the current draw is for the HID and LED is 1 Amp , 3 Amps is drawn by the halogen. Yes, there are of course differences in the colour temperature etc. But anyone who seen it aggrees that that all three are equally bright, a Bee or an other insect may have an entirely different view. There is some more information on this on our website SOLUS Submersible Products - SOLID STATE LIGHT ENGINES. Next weekend I'll be at the Beneath the Sea show in New Jersey demonstrating the differences in the common diving lamp sources with the very same box. Tomorrow though, I'll be lighting up the wreck of the Alastor with a 500 lumen LED lamp, which I know to be as bright as a 20 Watt HID or a 70 watt Halogen. Niall |

| cheer guys. So with the GF scale, 100w = conventional 21w. 50w = conventional 10w. |

| hello guys the greenforce 10 watt hid = 50 watt equivalent 21 watt hid= 100 watt equivalent 50 watt hid 250 watt equivalent the 21 watt is the same bulb as the salvo which is brightstar technology if you need to know any more contact me further i will be more than glad to help. rob lumb
