Talk to Phill....he'll not sell you one that is less than adequate....around the 50m mark the 10w or 21w will be perfect......35w is overkill.....if there was an 18w then i'd recommend that....but as I say....give Phill a call and tell him what your diving is....and go from there

I'd go with the best you can afford. I wouldn't sell a kidney to get the 21W over the 10W but I would stop and think about it for a while...

They are both superb but the 21W is well worth the extra if your budget can stretch to it.

This was exactly the dilemma I had (I know... Not a bad dilemma to have) a couple of months ago, and I ended up buying the 21w 9ah. It is a bit more cost but I am glad I did stretch the budget. I would have only ended up selling the 10w in a year or so to get the 21w.

I have probably saved myself a bit of cash! (Thats what I'm telling myself).

So many times I've bought "not quite the right thing" and then ended up changing it after a while which ended up costing more than I would have spent in the first place. A good HID is frighteningly expensive for a "posh candle" as Zak calls them - but it'll become completely indispensable and you won't ever want to go green water diving without it. Don't think of it as just something to illuminate the wreck - use it for staying in touch with your buddy and telling him your OK - it makes life so much easier and safer. No-one ever said diving was cheap HTH mate

I think Phill's sold one so far. The Foxturd chimps are supposed to be testing one for him soon - we'll stick a report up on here once we have - he's just waiting on more stocks at the moment

Bought one for my wife on saturday. Got a few trips planned over the next few weeks, so will try to write up a few words. Might end up being a bit of an overkill for our type of diving, but whatever keeps her happy eh.

You'll find it's too bright, the 35W one. A 10W light is plenty enough cahoonies for UK diving, 18/21W if you want to show off and 35W if you are videoing stuff. Otherwise it's like driving through fog with your full beam on- you can't see diddly squat and your night vision is toast.

A rather brilliant place to dive

Woz is that from trying one or are you just guessing (and no I'm not being funny, serious question). Vicky used a 10w Sartek and found this to be a bit inadequate; she now wants to use it for passive signalling to save me pissing about turning around. On the night vision point she used a 21w on a few night dives and really enjoyed them (hence the outlay).
