Question
Can someone explain why these sort of torches are so expensive?

Is it the battery technology or something?

Not having a go; am genuinly interested.

Hi Geoff,

The cases are made from a solid rod of Delrin which is a bl**dy expensive plastic made by Dupont.

Also the Li Ion packs have circuitry in them to regulate the pack.

The bulbs have to be bought in bulk (big bulk) also.

All that has a definate bearing on the price.

Yeah you've got about a tenners worth of Delrin there..... however it's the drawings that unreasonably say "machine from solid" that put the price up.
