I've been thinking about one of these for my Red Sea trip in a few months, quick look at Knackers site, suggests it weighs in at only 400g (my main ATM is getting on for a Kg, plus burn time is about 45mins on full power). Do you think this would be okay for a main out there?

I had one for free when I bought one of the 35W salvo jobbies, cool little thing I lent it to one of my mates who was quite impressed.

I was going to ues it in the red sea as well im sure thatit will be ideal for that.

Get the 35W if you want some real light though, now that's great.!

Pete,

In a nutshell yes ! I know I would say that wouldn't I. However, we've had a quite a few peeps buy these for exactly that purpose. And everyone has been very happy with them.

superb as a main light - regularly 30m+ in scapa, norway, scottish coast.
Some like their 35w umbilicals but for me this was like the sun coming up, not only one i'm definately happy with, but also more in my price range...
