| Dave Willo and I may well have been the first people on YD to buy a Salvo, when I bought a 21W direct from Barry Miller at the end of 2004: Story I know Mark and I were the first people to buy a Salvo HID from Phill when he started NikNaks. At that time I bought a 10W as a backup. I used it a couple of times and later flogged it to Nick (Frosty). I'm guessing he's still delighted with it. I never used it as a backup as the original has been very reliable. The only time it needed attention was when I discovered a couple of weeks after I'd done it that I'd cut through the cable and the canister had flooded (the dry lids stop this now). To cut a long story short, I fucked the battery and Barry Miller went above and beyond any expectations to sort it for me. I would have no reservations about recommending a Salvo and with Phill's £100 discount offer I'd say run, don't walk to place that order now. |

| I have the less powerful Salvo 4.5 Ah NIMH 10 Watt torch and am perfectly happy with it. Great service from Phil. They had a faulty batch of catches on the canisters recently and after mine broke a replacement was with me within a couple of days. Quote:

Praytell what the metalsub bulb is. Or even how it is TWICE as powerful as a new-bulb 21W Salvo. Oh, and don't come some spurious lumen-output figures as they aren't the be all and end all. Let's see the side-by-side photos. Not knocking the metalsub - just the rather rash comments.

| Good to see a bunch of positive comments about Salvo's again / still. If anyone wants to pay the full price and take a Rat light FREE instead they're most welcome to do so. You know where we are .

| I would say that the 21W is as bright as you want to go with a diving torch. The 35W are great for video work but too bright for general use. In fact, the 10W is more than adequate for any UK diving you would want to do but the 21W is better for willy waving. The 35W is really for those who have an exceptionally small penis, say the size of an acorn. They will also turn up to the dive site in a Corvette and spray their cylinders black.
