Hi Rob,

I am not saying the Greenforce isn't a good torch, because it clearly is and there are a lot of people on YD who are very happy with them.

My regular buddy has as 10w Greenforce. I get a cleaner, more focused beam than he gets. I can put my beam on top of his and you can clearly see it's brighter.

I don't know what bulb they are using, I just presumed it was something to do with the reflector.

10 watt hid

thanks for the reply jezza the normal welch alleyn bulbs have the reflector already on the bulb and greenforce mainly use the 13 degree but they also do a 6 degree.but welch alleyn also do a 10 watt bulb which you can have your own reflector which greenforce now use on there new focusable 10 watt hid head.the brightstar bulbs also you need your own reflector.so that is probably why you can see the difference in the two.

They are available on Ebay quite often.I bought one a while ago, a bit over $600AU delivered to Australia. A good deal when you consider a Greenforce is well over $1000AU here.
Just search for Sartek on Ebay, you'll eventually find one. The buy it now price will be something like $450US + delivery, but they usually go cheaper.
I think the RRP is $595US, you can look them up on Sartek Industries Home Page.
Hey, its the middle of winter here, but you guys are sure getting all the rain !!

I have a sartek which I bought 2nd hand off Bren (new members will be saying "who he?" at this point) , who bought it from Andy Heyhurst. It does seem to burn for a LONG time. Easily does a weekend of four hours diving or so. I keep testing it to see how long it goes from fully charged but I forget to watch it.

I keep comparing it with other peoples lights and it appears to be as bright as most people's green force ones.

I think you can get therapy for Lamp envy...

I got mine from this guy on ebay

eBay My World - igorthediver

I believe he is Sartek or at least works there, the packaging came from there

I paid about £200 for the light, paid about £25 for delivery and about the same in duty/tax
