Sartek HID-10MR,NEVER ENDING BURNTIME

Got my sartek 10 watt hid 2hour burntime through last week which i ordered over thet net from the states, took bit of time to arrive but what a quality torch looks good an is very well made. solid torch and great size same as my old custom diver or if not smaller, have been playing around with it 2day i.e. putting on clamp mounting it up but wasnt sure whether was fully charged but paper work said i should charge it so i stuck in sink about 3.30 turned it on so that the battery would eventualy run down so that i knew where i stood with it as in whether it had a full charge, is now 6.40 an still burning bright thats over 3hours!!!!! what happening here?.......................

Havent dived with it yet but would still recommend it as there so cheap for the money...

does anybody else have one of these?

I have one and yes I would agree they are brilliant,

Burn time is over 4 hours (if you do the maths it's 5.4hrs) , plus they're light enough to pack in your suitcase or holidays.

I've never compared the brightness to the equivalent salvo or halcyon, it's brighter than the Greenforce.

You can now retrofit the focusable head if you didn't order it with the torch

I have one but the spec say its a four hour burn time as standard.

Its a really good light, especially when you consider what you would end up with for the same money buying over here.

I paid around £250 for mine, for a 4 hour, 10W 6° HID umbilical with house / car charger and various little clips and bits to attach it wherever you want it.

It beats the 50W halogen it replaced hands down.

Have to agree they are great torches.

I had one for a couple of years and then sold it about 18 months ago to upgrade to a 21w Salvo. The sartek never let me down and was neat and compact, they are a fraction of the price they were when I bought it originally, like all technology they get cheaper all the time. Mine would burn the whole weekend on a single charge, 4 dives - so probably three to four hours in the sea and still going.

Well recommended

James

Dived with it on monday on a dark dive, performed very well with plenty of light , smart little torch, but if i could afford a metalsub 200 that would be the one for me or even a greenforce 250!

sartek 10 watt hid

jezza how do you come to the conclusion that the sartek is brighter than the greenforce.if i am not mistaken the sartek now use a brightstar 10 watt bulb but they used to use welch alleyn bulbs.halcyon still use the welch alleyn bulbs and they are brighter than the brighstar bulbs but not as durable.and if sartek are still using welch alleyn bulbs then it will be the same bulb as greenforce and halcyon.

kind regards
rob
