UK800 rechargable

New UK 800 rechargable twin bulb, 15 dives, Rubber moulding over clear plastic threaded lens cover cracked vertical ly from "o" ring landing for about half inch then tracked around a thread.

Neoprene cover on torch.

Torch started to flood at 40m about 10 mins into the dive filling in about a minute and effectively a write off except housing.

Second dive of the day on a hard boat, not crushed, dropped or banged between dives, in a half empty ocean crate.

UK product owner since 1984 I think it was when I bought my first UK 600 blue plus four upgrades along the line so I know it was not a novice overtightening.

Any other experiences

isn't it amazing what effect seawater has on the reflective insides! From shiney silver to black in no time at all.

Have you considered an umbilical torch that sits on the top of the hand with the battery pack on your back? I've seen some in use and the diver appears to be able to use his hands with the benefit of torchlight but without having to hold the light. Really handy for any manual work that needs two hands.

UK torches

Greenforce are probably the best without doubt but at £600 for a bright one a lot of money for 20 or 30 hrs when you need a really good torch per yr rds glyn
