Thumbs up umbilical choice?

Hi all,
looking to pay up to £300 for an umbilical torch.I know this is at the bottom end of the range but have just invested in a megalodon so top range torches are out of the question for the moment.
I like the look of the JMD but it has a limited burntime, also looking at the greenforce AA12 with tristar plus head 3 hours burntime & being modular can be upgraded in the future.
Any others I should be looking at?all advice & recommendations will be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Lee C

futures lookin so bright I gotta wear shades.

Remember that with a JMD can you can add additional battery packs for longer burn times. I have the JMD 50w xenophot [sp?] and IMHO it burn brighter than the tristar

Get a Greenforce FII with the standard pro head and then upgrade that to the new focusable HID when funds allow.

Yes mate.
Haven't seen any details yet on the beam width though.

I went for greenforce F2 with pro-head (halogen). Seemed to be one of a limited choice at not totally outrageouse price. Excellent buy. The benefit of the Pro head is that it takes normal domestic 12V halogen bulbs, though the ones without glass are easiest to fit (otherwise you need a sucker like on a kid's arrow). I swapped bulbs for 50W which gives you bloody bright for a good hour. I since got a HID off flea-bay, which is even nicer, but no longer good value, especially as it seems to have an iffy connector, though OK when I got it. The trisar LED head is good too but not as bright, though lasts longer.

im also a great lover of the f2 battery pack with the pro head apart from ive upgraded my bulbs to the 50 watt from a 35 watt which throws out a nice light for the price!

the 10 watt focusable is the same power as the pro hid head 50 watt equivalent.the beam can be focused from 16 degrees up to 25 degrees.

hywel if you get in touch with me next week i will be able to see what is up with your hid head and maybe have a look at it.i am sure i will be able to sort it out for you.

lee if you need any further help on the greenfoce dont hesitate to contact me i will be more than happy to assist you.

thanks everyone
rob
