<font color='#000080'>I think Nitrox will give you an argument about that, Steve.

Let's hope your experience with it is better than his.

I got myself an Arrow 12 with the bog standard head on it, and i love mine. Wish i could afford to put the 100W HID on it but hey all in good time. I have heard of people having problems with them but i've had none with mine, but i do keep it well maintained.

I too have just become the proud owner of a F2, works pretty well so far.......

Quite impressive in murky environments; Guildy, Stoney Cove Hydrobox. Can't wait for sea diving to commence.

I became fed up with my Scubalux HP200 that is back at Scubapro for the third repair visit........

My local shops says that LED technology will lead to new brighter heads. The current 100w head may have a replacement using LED technology. Given the brightness of the current 100w head (not that I own one)........wow!

You could be right but the present LED torches lack penitration in the water. Andyp has the Tristar and he often comented that my CD 50W halogen was much better. He was even more gutted when he found I was only using the 35W bulb &nbsp;

Maybe in the future this will be true but at the moment they're sh*te. Just had the first chance to try mine out for real and am wholly unimpressed.
They may have a mega long burn time and be relatively maintenance free but if they don't do the job what's the point. HID here I come.

<font color='#000080'>I bought Andyp's A12 Tristart LED and I am impressed with it. Yes on a bright sunny day with good vis on a 20m Max dive its the same brightness as my UKC4 NON-rechargable, but in a very dark environment like a wreck or a night dive its very capable.

I dived the inside of the Breda in the SOM on a bright day and found on deck the LED made little impact but inside the holds with the deck over head and less light it was spot on. I later did a night dive with it in Lock Long (with airmonster) and found the brightness sufficient for my needs.

It is said that LED lights have a cold, very white light in comparison to the traditional tungsten filament bulbs and High Intensity Discharge, which produce a warmer yellow light. This yellower light is more comfortable for humans used to sunlight, than the white almost florecent light of the LED head. Still I find the LED 30W (equivalent) to be suitable for my needs, and the long burn time means I can take it on holiday and live aboards without my charger.

Just MHO,

Dave C

<font color='#000F22'>I've got the 100w HID - after initial set-up it's never been a problem.
