Goodman handle for JMD Torch

Hi all,

I'm after a goodman handle for my JMD umbillical. I've yet to find one suitable for the big light head it has on it (even looked around KT's stand to no avail). I saw a guy with one on a boat late last year so they must be out there somewhere?!?!

Anyone know where I can get hold of one?

I have the same torch and i had the saem problem in the end i just put a big bolt snap on the thing and attached it to the bc, i dont even unattach it to use it.

As for Kent Tooling i seem to rember seeing the handles with universal claps on them at the London dive show this year, did you ask the guys if they had any?

I had a look at the universal ones but they didn't seem to rise high enough to give room for your hand as well.

Before I went over the HID I had once of these- really good torch but ties up a hand. My solution was to pass two of the yellow rubber octopus holders around the torch. Bit difficult to describe but it you know what I mean the small loop round the torch and the big fro your hand- worked ok- not perfect but the best solution I could come up with at the time.

On the standard ones you have about 25mm of movement,

I have done one for a SCOTSMAN about 4 years back who wanted one for his hand the size of the light unit was !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one of those JMD torches and a Kent Tooling Goodman's Handle. It works just fine.

OK, the attachment system I use isn't pretty, but It works for me.

There are cable ties provided with the unit to attach the light unit head to the top bar

I cut some inner tube to go around the handle, to give me a bit of grip as the handle wouldn't stay in one place and moved a bit without it.

I then added cable ties and braided line. The cable ties alone broke when some idiot man handled my kit back into the RIB rather roughly, so I added the line.

It doesn't look too pretty, but does a great job - solid and strong.
